Capturing Contentment in the Everyday…
Pretty & Happy
Twas the week before Christmas and all through the Haus….
(ok, stopping the rhyme now as I might need to use it on next year’s Christmas card….)
We’re feeling pretty festive over here.
Wishful thinking.
My father-in-law made this Advent Tree for Trooper’s 1st Birthday. It isn’t being used very well this year, as the Princess keeps thinking it’s some sort of town home for Nativity Scene figures (probably as I had hidden some of the sheep behind the doors). Next year I’ll have it more organized. 😉
I picked up a coil of white pine roping last Saturday with this greenery-hanging scene in mind as I purchased it. By Sunday night I had haphazardly hung it over all the doorways in the house that I possibly could!
And around a few pictures as well.
The stockings are hung by the chimney with care…
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon will be there!
Funny
He’s back in costume. That’s an apron, by the way. Last year he would hardly take off this ensemble for Church and sleep. This year he is a little more practical, but I love that he remembered it.

Your decorations are beautiful! And your little helper cracks me up, we have a similar challenge around here 🙂
What a cute little helper. Your home is so festive.
Blessings,
Dawn
Oh how lovely your home looks! Beautiful! And that last one— we have had many a project accomplished that way, too!
Your last picture is priceless. Just priceless.
Good to see that image of Jesus amid the Santa season!
What a cute little elf! I love your fireplace stone work. It reminds me of the home my father built when I was a little girl.
Hahaha, so Sunshine, I love it!
I love the evergreen garlands too and the fact you all finally have a fireplace to hang your stockings from. Now you just need to get a little man dressed like a jolly old elf to shake hands with Merry and Pippin by the fire and you’ve got your own T. Tudor “Twas the Night Before Christmas” picture.:)
That is my absolute favorite image of Christ. And an evergreen spray above the Sacred Heart…what a perfect Christmas decoration, I love it! Almost as much as that adorable little helper 🙂
I’ve read your blog for a while now and always really enjoy it! It’s always full of fun and practicality and reassures me that there are other mothers out there who have similar views and attitudes. ( By the way if you are trying to figure out who I am just ask your sister! )
