It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.
In all my anticipation of Spring, I forgot that we must first endure the pollen bomb. At-choo. In between sneezes, here’s what I’m considering a success this week.
1) As mentioned in the previous post, we started all the seeds indoors that could be started indoors. The Easter grass is so tall now that it requires a trim. I’m not naturally a green thumb (fortunately, my mother and sister have the knack so I can enjoy their work), so if I am able to keep anything green alive I am very happy.
2) I did not lose my cool when The Dinosaur snuck into the laundry room when the baby gate had been taken down–especially when he dumped out the pots/trays containing those dear pumpkin seeds, dumping them into the cooler where he could create a mound of dirt, no doubt for his John Deere toy machinery.
3) Speaking of Dinosaur, we’ve embarked on that toddler rite-of-passage involving “no more diapers.” Sometimes just beginning something can be a success. Persevering against all odds, that sort of thing. Maybe he’ll have a success of his own sometime…this month… 😉
Oooo, the dirt thing would have made me upset!
Good luck with #3! Please share how it goes (We will start trying with our toddler during Easter week), I’m going to need all the help I can get!
Ouch… #2 would’ve probably made me cry. Awesome job for keeping your cool!
#1 is a pretty awesome success. Hope you share pictures of your garden.
Regarding #2…What did I tell you, a mound of dirt created in an artificial environment, Dinosaur will stop at nothing – no garden is safe.
Poor little pumpkin seeds. We had a similar tragedy here when Hank dumped an acorn that Rose had planted. It wasn’t pretty. Hank is embarking on his own potty adventures this weekend. I wish I could say I was looking forward to it. It’ll work out in the end, though. Now if I can just steel myself to try cloth diapers on Maggie our monthly budget will have a bit more wiggle room fairly soon…
