Small Successes: Home Away from Home Week 4

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

1) We went to the Pumpkin Patch.  Honestly, I began to think that Rascal would not have allowed us to go home without a visit to the Patch.  It was the topic of conversation at least eight times a day.  He even told the plumbers just how the pumpkin was going to be eventually carved.

2)  Haus Meister and I have been planning how to redo our room when we get home (same furniture, different paint and curtains).  If the colors on the computer are any indication of the actual paint “swatches,” then I think we’ve decided on a new color.

3) I listened to my guardian angel and held off starting Fall Break until this week.   Last week wound down with cold, yucky weather, a plumbing problem, a lack of interest in some schoolwork, and a delay in Haus Meister’s job schedule that prevented him from coming home last Monday as planned.  It was so tempting just to say, “ok, forget this, let’s just have Fall Break now.”  Instead, my guardian angel counselled patience, and for once I listened.  This week the weather has been Indian summerish, we had three days of big equipment tearing up and replacing my parents’ sewer line and driveway–which would have distracted the kids from school anyway, and the children have been able to run around outside as often as they want.  You know, that guardian angel knows his stuff!

  1. Great successes Haus Frau! Listening to that guardian angel is key isn’t it?
We haven’t been to the pumpkin patch yet…hopefully next week.
    Keep up the positive attitude!
    Blessings and Grace,
