A few days ago the Dinosaur climbed onto the chair behind me as I typed on the computer. He flopped onto his back and began playing with some little toys he’d brought along on his travels. He babbled away and it wasn’t long before I recognized that he was praying the “Glory Be” prayer! Dinosaur’s been praying along with us during our night prayers for a little bit now, and I love listening to his spontaneous prayers throughout the day.
Well, he began to follow up the “Glory be” with the Fatima prayer (“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy”), just as we do during the Rosary. The moment was ruined very quickly as he glanced up and noticed me smiling at him, so the prayer went something like this:
“Oh my Jesus, fohgive usssins, sabe…. NO, MomMEEEE!”
Ah well. 😉
