We’re early. According to reliable resources, October is the National Apple Month. However, I reserve October for pumpkins. I mean, how many people hear “October” and do not almost immediately think “pumpkins”?
(watch: I get 50 comments from people who do not immediately think “pumpkins”)
Anyway, this is a short post tonight because I have to craft up some felt board figures for tomorrow’s circle time song. The kids love it. I modified it from one I found last year at Everything Preschool. Last year I used index cards with pictures on them that I held up at appropriate times. This year we’re being more interactive and the kids will put on the figures and give them the appropriate apple. Or at least, such is the plan. Without further eloquence, here’s the song:
Five Little Apples
To the tune “Clap, Clap Your Hands”
Five little apples were sitting on a tree
The farmer didn’t see them
So guess who came to eat?
(Spoken) A caterpillar did…Munch, Munch
Four little apples were sitting on a tree
The farmer didn’t see them
So guess who came to eat?
(Spoken ) A Bird did…Munch, Munch
Three little apples were sitting on a tree
The farmer didn’t see them
So guess who came to eat?
(Spoken) A Pig did…Munch, Munch
Two little apples were sitting on a tree
The farmer didn’t see them
So guess who came to eat?
(Spoken) A horse did …Munch, Munch
One little apple sat on the tree
The farmer didn’t see it
So guess who came to eat?
(Spoken) A cow did… Munch, Munch
