Now, a week out, I’m going to recap our State Fair trip. We had such a good time. It was such a good experience for the boys to see a lot of different animals up close and personal. If we ever own the on-and-off again daydream of a few acres and a few farm animals, the kids better decide which they like. It’s going to be difficult finding just the right animals. 😉
Goats: Dinosaur likes them.
Cows: Most of the kids liked them.
Sheep: None of the kids liked them.
Horses: None of the kids liked them (we’ll hold verdict until Princess is six or so).
Chickens: Not so bad, but ducks are a favorite.
Rabbits: Pretty universally liked.
Pigs: Trooper liked them.
So, cows and rabbits? One goat? One pig? Who knows. At any rate, we don’t have acreage. Rabbits it may be.
Of course, we also saw a lot of John Deere action….

The boys tried some hands-on pretend farm play, but the lines got too long at one point and enthusiasm evaporated. Trooper had a pony ride, and he was so good. He had such a fun time!
Saving the most interesting sight for last….
